Skillbuilders are part of your Fall Prevention Tai Chi instructor certification training.
Date: Tuesday January 16, 2025 Time: 9-12
Practice: The focus of this 3-hour online skillbuilder will be whole body integration in Tai Chi – fine-tuning how we initiate each movement from the feet, power the movement by shifting the weight and/or turning the hips, and allow the torso, arms and hands to “catch the wave”, expressing an impulse that started from the ground up, rather than leading with the arms and hands. This skillbuilder will serve as an opportunity to review and refine the Fall Prevention Tai Chi Level 1 movements and explore the Level 2 sequence as well, especially “Brush Knee Twist Step“ and “Play the Lute”.

Skillbuilders are part of your Tai Chi Vermont instructor certification training; your certification fee covers Tai Chi Vermont Skillbuilders.
Date: Thursday, Feb. 27
Time: 1-4 p.m.
Practice: For those with limited mobility or experiencing a temporary setback, seated tai chi offers a wonderful alternative to the standing form. While it seems to focus on the arm and hand motions, we will practice engaging the core and hips very deliberately and experiencing the ways the feet and legs create a firm base. We will learn/practice the entire sequence: Fundamental Exercises, Levels One, Two, and Three. Seated tai chi occupies the mind in a way that is somewhat different from the standing style and requires full concentration.
