Frequently Asked Questions
Who Runs Tai Chi Vermont?
We have a Board of Directors who serve as volunteers and make policy for all our functions. Some Directors are Trainers, some are Instructors, and we are currently seeking some Tai Chi students to join us. The Board of Directors meets four times a year by Zoom.
Are the Officers of Tai Chi Vermont paid for their work?
No, the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary all serve voluntarily. Likewise, the editor of the e-newsletter and website manager are also voluntary positions.
Why can’t Tai Chi Vermont offer training workshops in all parts of Vermont?
As a small organization with just four Trainers located in Vermont, we simply don’t have the resources to offer many small training workshops. We try to locate these workshops conveniently but understand some folks will have considerable travel to reach them.
What is the relationship between the various Area Agencies on Aging and Tai Chi Vermont?
From our founding in 2015, we have worked cooperatively with the five Area Agencies (along with SASH—Support and Services at Home). Part of their mission is to provide evidence-based wellness programs and so we help them fulfill that mission by providing certified tai chi instructors. In return, the Agencies and SASH pay the tuition for instructors who undertake training. It’s a win-win program!
